Mourning Papers

This letter writing set is inspired by Victorian mourning customs. During this era, a bereaved person would completely transform their physical presence in the world while in mourning, from clothes and jewelry to personal items like letters. In stationery, a black border around the envelope and letter indicated it came from a person in mourning. As time passed, the black border would grow thinner and disappear.

This set includes six custom-converted envelopes, with a black border all around.

Designed in collaboration with Victorian Psycho, only in theaters Friday, November 13.
